We have had an offer accepted on a house! Honestly, it kind of took us by surprise. It is a foreclosure that has been on the market for some time. And we found out that multiple offers were being put in, so we figured they would possibly be coming to a decision soon, so we wouldn't have to wait for months and months to find out if we got it. It was listed for 165k and we offered 175k with 4k in concessions. We actually made an offer on another house the next day, because I figured we didn't offer high enough and wouldn't get it. I had looked at the house without Zac, and he said just to make an offer. I completely forgot about the house. We made the offer on Monday, and on Friday our Realtor called to say we had gotten that house. I actually laughed because I wasn't even thinking about it anymore. But it was the one house in the school district that we wanted to be in and we are so excited! We close on the house on April 12th. The last two months have flown by, because I have spent all of my time looking at houses and finding houses to go and look at. I can't believe that this is all happening. What a big adventure this will be for us!
It was so nice to go and meet with the loan officer and have him say that he rarely has clients that are doing as well as we are financially. It was nice to be able to say that we have $0 in debt and that we are ready to buy this house! I feel very grateful to have married an accountant, who has changed the way that I think about spending money on the extra things. I really owe it all to him. :)
